Passengers aboard a luxury cruise ship linked to a suspected hantavirus outbreak are now returning to their home countries after the vessel finally reached port following days of growing health concerns at sea.
Health authorities confirmed that several passengers developed flu-like symptoms during the voyage, prompting emergency medical evaluations and heightened monitoring procedures onboard. The incident has sparked international attention as travelers from multiple countries began disembarking under strict health protocols.
Hantavirus is a rare but potentially serious disease typically spread through contact with infected rodents, especially through exposure to rodent urine, droppings, or saliva.
